Mr. G' s"G is For Googol" blog

Congratulations!!! Finding your way to the blog is the first step in completing your assignment. Each week you will be responsible for responding to a page from the wonderful book G is for Googol. We will move in order A – Z throughout the school year. Each assignment will correlate to a specific letter and have a specific due date (posted here and in room 402).

For each letter your task is the following:

1. Respond to the page in a way that is meaningful to you. This may be a summary of the text, a connection you made to something in class or the real world or a reaction you had to the information presented.

2. Choose one of the “and also” words on the side of the page and give an example of it. For example on the page I is for “If” one of the words is “integer”. You can say that we learned about integers in 7th grade and they are the set of positive whole numbers and their opposites. This can be as brief as a short definition or as much as you like!

That’s it! Check back after the due date and read your classmates responses as well!!!

Questions, comments, concerns, wishes????

— Mr. G – what if I do not have access to the internet at home? How can I blog?

If you do not have internet access at home you have several options.

1. Complete your assignment in school on one of our computers before, after or during school (lunch time?).

2. The public library in your neighborhood has computers to use.

— Mr. G – is this graded?

Your responses will be rated and count towards the project portion of your semester grade.

— Mr. G – why are we doing this?

We are doing this for two reasons really. The first is that I really like this book and I want to share it with you. The second is that our school-wide focus is to get your guys reading in all areas, even math class!
